In the area around Collins View, we have direct access to bus lines: #35, #38, #39, and #43, as shown in the diagram below.

This overview shows the Routes outbound to various destinations - forming a veritable transit "Hub".

Verbal Descriptions

Here we verbally describe the routes in words, so you can form a mental image of each bus line. (Route diagrams appear on other pages, and on TriMet's site.)

Line 35 is new to the Collins View area. It gives South Burlingame and Collins View neighborhoods a path to North Portland, Downtown Portland, South Portland, Lake Oswego, and Oregon City. 35 is a split route!

35 "T" comes up Taylors Ferry Road from Macadam, turns south (left) onto Terwilliger and runs past Tryon Creek State Natural Area to Hwy 43, then south to Lake Oswego and beyond.
35 "R" does not pass through Collins View, it stays down at the River level. 35R uses Macadam-Hwy-43 to get to Oswego and beyond.
Both 35R and 35T routes return the way the go...
You need to be aware of 35R vs 35T when boarding in downtown, Lake Oswego, Oregon City, and so on. Use the Trip planner or Tracker. Know your Stop IDs.

Line 38 connects the Tualatin Park & Ride with downtown during M-F commute.
Line 39 connects the Barbur Transit Center on one end with Hillsdale and Ida B Wells on the other end. It uses Stephenson Road! It passes Jackson middle school.
Line 43 now runs between OHSU and the Tigard Transit Center, with Ida B Wells HS in between. You'll see it going by Collins View's boundaries along Taylor's Ferry Road, and turning at the intersection with Terwilliger.

Line 12 runs on Barbur Blvd and is a relatively frequent service 7 days/week. It may take 20 minutes or longer to walk to Barbur depending on where you live in CV, so it isn't quite "local".
Many more bus lines go through Hillsdale, which is reachable via #39 and #43...

It's About Time — Frequency and Service Hours

Using transit isn't just about where buses run - When is the other dimension of this space-time continuum.

Lines 35 and 43 are Frequent - better than every 30 minutes. They also have full service hours (early/late).
Lines 35 and 43 run on weekends and holidays!
Lines 38 and 39 don't run on weekends or holidays.
Line 38 is AM/PM rush-hour only. No mid-day or nighttime runs.
39's schedule is very limited — with a couple of runs in the early morning and a couple in the late afternoon, synchronized to the Ida B Wells schedule.

These route survived performance reviews, and have been stable, as of 2026. However, it's best to check out routes of interest as you dive in. See you on the bus!
