AT THE CORNER
Food and Exercise places.
HISTORY: Originally, this was Burlingame Feed Store, then Burlingame Grocery, and Burlingame Market which was destroyed by arson fire on 9/18/2001.
Market of Choice rebuilt the location and had a good run through April 14, 2019.
AnyTime Fitness opened in December 2022.

Carrying on Jose's reputation of great Mexican dishes and an enjoyable atmosphere.
Dine In, or order on-line for Take Out / Delivery. See their website for a History.
HISTORY: The space for Jose's was taken out of the Burlingame Grocery when it had a butcher shop in that space. It was a little undersized, but after the fire of 2001, they negotiated expanding their space into the market space. Jose's reopened in that larger space, and some time later, the Market of Choice opened their first Portland location here.
Dr. Benjamin Brown — Dentist,
Jennifer — Office Manager,

Great team of hygienists! See their website.
HISTORY: Previous practice was Dr Rebecca Morisse, who took over from Dr Poff.
Jennifer's tenure extends back to Dr Poff, so there is great continuity in this dental practice!

HISTORY: This building was constructed at the southmost end of the commercial property in (what year?). There was a red house on this location, on a bit of a hill, which was removed, and the earth excavated with the retaining wall built creating the parking area and the south wall of the building. The complex is below the level of Beth Israel Cemetery on the other side of that hedge. There's way more history here. An electric trolley passed just behind it from 1890 to 1899! The man who built that house also worked on the Trolley line. Read about the trolley on the New Collins View Blog

Engine No 10 - Fire Station
451 SW Taylors Ferry Road
Station 10 was opened in 1984, replacing the old bungalow Station 10 on SW Kelly Street. It was the second new station to be built since the Modernization program of the early 1960s. It was controversial, to some extent because it was the first station to incorporate mandatory artwork into its budget. The city of Portland began a program requiring 1% of the building budget to be dedicated to public art. In the case of Station 10, a stainless steel dragon was created the would wrap around the exterior of the building. It was met with mixed reviews. Subsequent stations met the art requirement in different ways. Most would have interior artwork in public areas.

Burlingame Shoe Repair
a family business?
At 7555 SW Barbur Blvd (actually between Spring Garden and Barbur). This is the shop that was booted out of Burlingame Fred Meyer in their remodel, not to be confused with the one in Los Angeles by the same name! 503-246-9711
